This year’s Gala is set around the 60’s – colourful fashions, great music, Daleks, the launch of chicken tikka, and lots more.

Features the sights & sounds of the 1960’s  with 60’s revival band Vinyl45 and Fab band The Broadcasters with Carla Burchell. 

Stalls, crafts, gifts, memorabilia, plants, charities, support groups

Classic cars, motorbikes and some interesting future classics.

Hands-on Rabbit Display

1960’s music and fashions, photo opportunities, mods, rockers etc.

Bouncy castle (Free!), inflatable rough and tumble, Huffybikes etc.

60’s classic film The Italian Job on big screen in the conference room

Bluebells ices and sorbets, Beer tent, ciders bar and Pimms bar

Classic 60’s food in the Retreat Tearoom, Pump room and walled garden (remember the Knickerbocker Glory!!?).

Lots to see, and something for everyone. Dress in 60’s gear if you can; Teddy Boy, Mods, Rockers, flower power, Quadrophenia, Mary Quant! Bring your classic wheels and park in the grounds.

Where? Morley Retreat, Church Lane, Morley DE7 6DE. Parking off A608 Derby to Heanor road.  Follow signs on the day. Classics and interesting vehicles and disabled can park in the grounds – approach up St Matthew’s Church driveway.

When? Saturday 20th July 2019 starts 11am finishes 5pm or later if we still have some beer!!!


Two fabulous live bands – Vinyl45 playing music from the 60’s onwards, and The Broadcasters playing Cajun, classic folk and rock, and an eclectic mix of soul. 

Lots more -stalls, rabbits, cars, huffuybikes, wall of 60’s fashion, Morley School Gala Art Exhibition, books, prints, fashion, etc. And our fabulous grounds to explore or enjoy.

Cost? It’s Free to enter – but there is a charge of £2 per person for the music event in the walled garden. (Under 3’s free)
